Footjuitsu is a modern martial art built around one central objective: breaking an opponent's tibia and fibula to disable their ability to use their feet. Training develops the positioning, timing, balance, striking and close-range skills used to pursue that objective by any means necessary. Its training system combines principles associated with Krav Maga and capoeira.
Begin Your JourneyA disciplined martial-art system built around disabling an opponent's feet by targeting the tibia and fibula.
Footjuitsu was developed and perfected within the Special Army Forces of Liechtenstein. The system draws from techniques found in Krav Maga and capoeira, combining direct combat movement with dynamic footwork.
The curriculum emphasizes rapid positioning, striking, sweeps, evasive movement and other methods intended to break the tibia and fibula and leave an opponent unable to effectively use their feet. Movement, balance and timing support the central objective rather than define it.
Footjuitsu principle: control the feet, control the fight.
Study the positioning, timing and striking principles surrounding Footjuitsu's central objective: disabling the feet through tibia and fibula breaks.
Train the angles, movement and close-range control that support Footjuitsu's primary objective of making an opponent unable to use their feet.
Develop accuracy, timing and controlled power through pads, bags and specialized training equipment.
The story of Papa's Footjuitsu Dojo begins with a family that had always believed strength was something you inherited. Then tragedy struck, and the life they knew changed overnight. What remained was a house full of people carrying different memories, different burdens and, for a time, very little idea how to move forward together.
Training gave them a way back to one another. The first lessons were simple: show up for the person beside you, learn what they know, and never let pride keep you from accepting help. Over time, those lessons became a discipline. The family trained together, taught one another and passed the practice from one generation to the next.
It was during those early years that Bruno, one of the original Senseis, became an important part of the teaching circle. His approach was unusual, but his lesson was straightforward: technique matters, but the people standing beside you matter more. The dojo grew around that idea.
Eventually, one phrase came to define what the family had built: “Ohana means family.” Not simply family by blood, but a commitment to the people who show up, train together and refuse to leave one another behind. That principle remains at the heart of Papa's Footjuitsu Dojo today.
The first Footjuitsu curriculum is established in Liechtenstein.
Sensei Bruno becomes part of the founding teaching circle, helping turn the family's shared training into a formal discipline built around movement, trust and responsibility.
Footjuitsu establishes its first American training hall and begins formal international instruction.
The system continues to develop through structured instruction, seminars and dojo training.
“Footjuitsu and Papa's Footjuitsu Dojo helped give me purpose after an accident left me wheelchair bound. The training helped me walk again, accept myself and accept LGBTQIA+ people as part of the family.”— J Balvin
